Minsmere looks back

I hope you will enjoy these pictures. Though they are 'vintage', they are very special for me because these were the first dogs that I showed. As an owner-handler it was very rewarding to have the special qualities of these dogs recognized by many highly respected judges. Click on the pictures to see larger images.

Ch. Dastropen Cordon Blue Finch

Shown here taking Best of Breed, Cookie was our first showdog. I finished her and went on to place in a very compettive working group (before the split into herding and working).

Ch. Sanbrook Royal Scandal

Roy is shown taking first in his class at a specialty show. He was my first toy dog, a joy to show, and the sire of my first litter in this breed.

Ch. Sanbrook Royal Scandal

Roy is shown winning a major to finish his championship under highly respected judge Anne Rogers Clark.

Ch. Halrok Half Carat

Carrie is shown here while still in the classes, winning under noted judge Anne Rogers Clark. She was always spunky, showy, and was the foundation of Minsmere Miniature Pinschers.

Ch. Halrok Half Carat

Carrie is shown here taking Best of Breed one of the few times when she was not owner handled because I was, at the time, very pregnant.

From Ch. Minsmere Mistral's first litter

This litter out of our first homebred Miniature Pinscher champion produced not only this handsome boy who is shown taking a group two, but also produced Ch. Minsmere Marigold who went on to produce BISS Ch. Delcrest Gold Nugget.

I'ts a family affair

From early on, my daughter Monica showed a great interest in the dogs, even sharing a crate with our Standard Schnauzer, Ch. Dastropen Cordon Blue Finch (Cookie). Here, at age 4, she wants to hold one of Cookie's pups.

Puppy love

My daughter, Monica, with our first show prospect, Breezy. Breezy became our first homebred champion, Ch. Minsmere Mistral, and dam of Ch. Minsmere Marigold.
